What To Expect From our Sing Along Sessions
Which ever group you wish to attend, we always sit in a circle , we all have songbooks covering all sorts of genres of music, we have songbooks from Musicals, Wartime Songs, 50’s , 60’s , 70’s, & Good Old Fashioned Sing Along Songs. All of which are up beat, well known and easy to sing. We laugh just as much as we sing, the purpose of our groups is have fun in a safe and welcoming environment. During our 90 minute session , we always have a tea break half way through the session, tea, coffee, orange cordial etc along with huge amounts of biscuits.
All of our songbooks are “works in progress ” we are constantly adding new songs , which are suggested by any of our group members.
Entrance fees are £5 per person, if a carer is needed to assist someone, then their entrance fee is £2.50. All refreshments are included in this fee.
Sing Along With Ellie Community Group is a Not For Profit organisation. Ellie facilitates the singing groups and has a board of Trustees that oversee how the groups are run, including grant applications , fundraising events etc. We will be applying for our organisation to become a Registered Charity in 2025.
You do not have to be good at singing, as it is a very informal gathering of like-minded people that enjoy singing & music as a social activity. The whole point of the group is to have fun! and boy do we have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All of our groups are Dementia friendly as Ellie is an official delivery partner of Singing For The Brain, for the Alzheimer’s Society.
All of our groups are filled with many different types of people, some living with varying aspects of Dementia and some people attend purely as a social gathering with lots of laughter, singing and spending time with a friendly bunch of people.
Sing Along With Ellie hosts several events throughout the year along side a few performances by group some members that like to perform as a choir. These are usually fundraising events to help pay for the running cost of our groups and events. These are separate events that you can participate in or not, whatever you are comfortable doing.
