Living with dementia in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire
Ellie realised there was no provision of supportive & fun activities for people living with dementia in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire.
What’s it all about?
It has been scientifically proved that music creates feel-good hormones called endorphins, these make you feel good, but for people living with Dementia it is like a magic switch in the Brain. The music can break through the brain fog, reduce anxiety, depression and help engage a person into the moment, helping bring feelings of happiness, confidence & becoming engaged & energised, all through the power of music. It is a truly wonderful thing to witness, the utter joy that music and singing brings, its priceless !!!!!
Sing along With Ellie is an Award Winning Community Group that supports people living with all aspects of Dementia . We very proudly won the Community Group category of the BBC Radio Derby’s MAKE A DIFFERENCE AWARD 2024. Fabulous group, always a smile on everyone’s face and great singing, especially our Doris Day favourites.

Again fabulous group , fabulous people , songs , laughter ,friendship . We do all off Ellies groups whenever possible , it’s a privilege to be a part of these groups that welcomes everyone 100% recommended
